He was vice president at Ten-X Commercial Real Estate (formerly Auction.com) in the Private Client Group leading up to its acquisition by T.H. Lee Partners in 2017 for $1.6B. There his team transacted $18MM in office and industrial properties in the U.S. in 2017 on behalf of real estate operating companies and family offices. He brings clients the confidence and value of deep experience negotiating large transactions with multiple internal and external teams. Previously he was a Senior Director in Miami with Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate.
Riggs & Co USA Real Estate | Capital | Advisors was founded with a focus on workouts and restructuring in the financial services and commercial real estate sector in the wake of the long run down during the economic recession. Riggs had been a Director with ACM Capital Partners in Miami where he engaged private equity firms in workouts and the restructuring of portfolio companies in trouble. Previously he served as a Managing Director for The McLean Group, a national middle market investment bank; and, he was Shareholder, Senior Advisor and Director with Houlihan Capital in Chicago, IL where he led client mandates in excess of $1B in transaction value. In the1990s Riggs was co-founder and Managing Partner of 3D Engineering & Design Inc. and related homeland Security and technology start-ups in partnership with Berkeley Engineering and Research.
Mr. Riggs earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Philosophy and Business Administration from James Madison University. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Florida Grand Opera and a Member of the Board with the The Voices for Children Foundation. Originally from Lynchburg, Virginia, he resides in Brickell and enjoys an active lifestyle on the water and contributing to social and business organizations in the community in Miami, Florida
